Delivery and FAQs

The Cluck Truck delivers to Lewes and surrounding villages, Brighton, Hove, Shoreham, Lancing and Portslade every week.  All delivery is free, apart from gift boxes, which incur a £2.50 charge for local delivery.

When are deliveries?
Lewes deliveries are on Tuesday mornings, Shoreham, Eastbourne, Portslade, West Hove & Worthing are on Wednesday afternoons and Brighton is on Thursday mornings.

Please note that Lewes veg box deliveries are on Wednesday mornings - if you have ordered eggs or anything else, it will arrive at the same time as your veg box.

I have ordered a delivery from you and I live in Sussex - when will it be delivered?
You will receive a confirmation email with your delivery date on it when you order.  If you have not received an email, please check your junk mailbox for a message from Shopify, and if you can't find it, drop us a line.
Why do I sometimes have to wait a week in between ordering and delivery?
We order everything fresh from the farms each week, and send it straight out to you.  This means that we have to close our orders at a certain time, so the producers can make everything to order.  If you order after midday on a Friday, your delivery will be rolled into the following week.  If you need it sooner than that, please get in touch with us, we will always do everything we can to accommodate this.
The easiest thing to do is set up a regular order, which can be paused, cancelled or amended at any time, and then you will receive your deliveries every week, plus any additional items.
If you are a regular customer wanting to add an additional product to your order, we will bring this during your next delivery.
What happens if I'm not at home when you deliver?
Please specify a safe place when ordering so we know where to leave your eggs if you're not in.  We deliver in a socially distanced manner, knocking on your door and then standing well back.  If we don't get an answer, we will leave deliveries in as secure a place as possible - enclosed porches/sheds are preferable in case of rain.  Some customers like to leave a plastic box out for us too.
In the summer, we pack any dairy products in mini cool bags.  Please leave these out for us to collect the following week.
I live in a different part of Sussex to those delivery areas - can I still get a visit from the Cluck Truck?
We deliver to other areas of Sussex by request for a small delivery charge of £2.50.  Please email hello@sussexeggspress.co.uk to request this.
Where do you send your hampers and gift boxes?
We send these nationwide via courier - apart from the Brunch Boxes, which are local delivery only, due to the inclusion of eggs. If you'd like to request an egg-free brunch box for nationwide delivery, please email hello@sussexeggspress.co.uk to arrange.
Can I return my egg boxes?
Yes!  We welcome clean egg boxes, which we will quarantine for a week and then reuse.  If they are marked or stained in any way, unfortunately we cannot reuse them.  Some customers like to leave their egg boxes in a plastic bag for us in case of rain - that's always appreciated.
Can I return my veg crate?
Yes please!  The reason we use plastic crates is so they can be left outside and reused - please leave out for collection the following week.
Is your veg organic?
Some of it is, and some of it is biodynamic, which is superior to organic.  Please see a description of the veg provenance on the veg box pages.
What makes eggs organic?
Please see our page about this here.
