About Us

It all started with an egg...

The Sussex Organic Eggspress was set up by Georgina Burrows, an event producer, during the Covid-19 pandemic.  What started as a small organic egg delivery service to friends and neighbours quickly grew to a thriving business across Lewes, Brighton, Hove and Worthing, with more than 400 customers.  We started providing a weekly seasonal recipe with each egg box, and soon, things really took off!

With a real passion for seasonal eating and organic food, Georgina saw that many of the larger food delivery companies didn't use local producers or farms, instead, using larger, centralised operations.  This led to the Eggspress's commitment to only supply the highest quality produce from Sussex, highlighting and supporting small, local producers throughout.  Eating locally means a smaller environmental footprint, and we never use any single-use plastics or unnecessary packaging.

We deliver eggs, honey, butter, cheese and seasonal produce weekly - please check out the delivery page for details of when we're in your area.

We also offer seasonal veg boxes from local farms - we work with a non-profit organisation who source the finest Sussex fruit and veg, and then put their profits back into food poverty projects in Sussex.  As a Trustee of the Brighton Food Partnership, Georgina is passionate about promoting food equality and as such, we offer bargain boxes of local veg to families in financial hardship.

By buying from the Eggspress, you're supporting the fantastic food producers of Sussex, and we're proud to showcase their award-winning wares.

If you're in Brighton, Worthing or Shoreham, you'll receive deliveries from our lovely Tracey and Lola.  A crack mother-and-daughter delivery team, Tracey is usually a travel writer, and committed egg enthusiast.  They're very passionate about fresh, local produce and always happy to chat egg recipes!  Tracey's favourite is a scrambled egg burrito, while Lola favours an eggy bread.
